Palm Sunday is known as Jesus’ triumphal entry. But Mark tells us the story of another triumphal march later in the week, not a triumphal entry but a triumphal procession, and that’s the focus of our attention today. Paul actually speaks of a triumphal procession at one point: “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.” (2 Cor. 2:14). When Paul speaks of a triumphal procession, what is he talking about?
