The Temple was one of the wonders of the ancient world. People came to Jerusalem from all over the Roman Empire to see it. Here the disciples are “oohing” and “aahing” over the huge stones and massive building of the Temple. Jesus says: “Don’t be impressed. It is all going to come crashing down, and life as you know it is going to come crashing down.” It is a reminder for all to hold on to the eternal.
