Having just looked at the “signs of the times,” it is somewhat natural to step into the book of Revelation for a few weeks. John is on the isle of Patmos and sees a vision of an exalted, allpowerful Christ, standing among the churches: he is with them! Then he is called to pass on Christ’s message to the churches, an overall message warning of assimilation, persecution and complacency, and calling them maintain their faith
and their witness, patiently enduring their cross for Christ. Then his attention turns to the throne room of God, an unopened scroll containing the future of the world, and a Lamb who is found worthy to open the scroll, to unveil the future.
