CS Lewis writes: There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors and hail a materialist and magician with the same delight. Both extremes please Satan. As we approach such a passage, we need to affirm the Biblical reality of Satan and his host. But we must also see Jesus’ power over evil forces and his ability to heal their harm.
