What does it mean, according to Frederick Buechner, “that the Creator of the ends of the earth came among us in diapers”? What did that mean for him? What did it take for them, in their culture, history, life situation, to make the journey on God’s promise of the Messiah, believing him to be king when Herod was the local ruler and Caesar the world emperor?
