Imagine your Dad brings home a pet lamb, you name it and get to like it, and then a few days later it is slaughtered in your place for your sins and you eat it! Or that your New Year’s is marked not by a ball dropping in Times Square but a ram’s horn blown from Jerusalem, and you are told you have 10 days to repent! Or you live in a little hut for a week because your ancestors lived like that for 40 years in a desert! Welcome to the feasts of God! (God: “these are my appointed feasts”). The feasts are a fascinating way to learn spiritual truths, and they are not just Jews, but for Christians as well, because all of them point ahead to Jesus.
